Malay Dance CCA – Si Anak Tari
The Malay Dance CCA, proudly known as Si Anak Tari, provides students with the opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of traditional and contemporary Malay dance. Through structured training, members develop rhythm, coordination, stage confidence, and teamwork while learning the cultural stories behind each performance. Si Anak Tari actively participates in school events and national platforms such as the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), representing the school with pride and excellence. The CCA nurtures discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the arts and Malay cultural traditions.
CCA leaders conducting a warm-up session to cultivate discipline, strengthen coordination and prepare dancers for an effective and focused practice.
In the spirit of collaboration, student alumni, parent volunteers, teachers and make-up artists came together to support and prepare the dancers for their performances.
Through their hard work, dedication, and passion, our dancers made the school proud by clinching the Distinction Award at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2024, a testament to their commitment to excellence in the arts.
Dancers showcased their talents at the SYF 2024 Celebrations (Dance Xtravaganza), gaining opportunities to learn, grow and engage with the community through the arts.
Through dedication, perseverance, and exceptional talent, our dancers clinched the championship at the Mutiara Tari Dance Competition, proudly celebrating Malay cultural heritage and showcasing the results of their hard work.
Our dancers showcased their talent in school events such as the Hari Raya Concert, Open House, and CCA Teachers’ Day Concert, as well as an external performance at Wisma Geylang Serai in conjunction with Malay Language Month. These performances provide students with valuable opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork and stage presence, while promoting cultural appreciation and community engagement.
